It is recommended when taking very low light pictures, is to up the ISO or use a tripod. Using hand held in low light can cause problems of camera shake, due to the low shutter speed. However, just to give it a go, I decided to experiment with hand held and a high ISO. Looking at the speed it worked out to 1/100 at 280mm. The outcome is not too bad so I have posted a couple of pictures for you to take a look at and make comments.
The scene is of the flare coming from the nearby petrochemical plant at Maptaphut. I found out that the burn off flame when refining is called a flare from a guy who works at site.

Keep Shooting
These are fantastic!
